Rafael Diaz-Tushman

A self-taught programmer and life-long entrepreneur, Rafael has started several internet businesses over the years, including Dioscouri.com,  a boutique Manhattan-based web-design firm which he founded in 2007.  He was first introduced to Joomla! in February of that year.  Frustrated by Joomla's limited ACL, he wrote JUGA, an extension that attempted to address some of those limitations with the explicit aim of not hacking the core.

Released in June 2007, JUGA immediately gained a large following and by December 2007, 10,000+ users had registered on Dioscouri.com.  Since then, he has shaped Dioscouri into a leading Joomla consultancy that provides businesses with the tools necessary for successful growth.   In two years, Dioscouri has released 12 Joomla! extensions and has nearly 50,000 registered users.

Rafael graduated from

in 2002 with his BA in English Literature, and in 2008 he graduated with his MBA from the

Darden Graduate School
