Rafael Diaz-Tushman

A self-taught programmer and life-long entrepreneur, Rafael Diaz-Tushman has started several internet businesses over the years. Rafael is the CEO of Dioscouri Design, a Manhattan, New York-based web-design firm which he founded in 2007.

Rafael was first introduced to Joomla! in February of 2007. Frustrated by Joomla's limited Access Control Levels (ACL), he wrote JUGA, an extension that attempted to address some of those limitations with the explicit aim of not hacking the core. Released in June 2007, JUGA immediately gained a large following and by December 2007, over 10,000 users had registered on Dioscouri.com. Since then, Rafael has shaped Dioscouri into a leading Joomla! consultancy that provides businesses with the tools necessary for successful growth.

In two years, Dioscouri has released 20+ Joomla! extensions and has nearly 100,000+ registered users. Rafael graduated from Columbia University in 2002 with his BA in English Literature. In 2008 he earned an MBA from the Darden Graduate School for Business Administration at the University of Virginia.
